Parameter HDMI VERSN 00aabbcc represents hardware and software revision numbers (hexadecimal), combined into one 32-bit value. aa = HSR82 Software Release Revision (minor enumeration) cc = HSR82 Software Release (major enumeration) bb = HSR82 Software Version - this is related to the board hardware assembly status (*) To display this parameter go to SYSTEM STATUS submenu: SYSTEM SETUP-->TESTS-->SYSTEM STATUS (fourth screen down) or look at line 12: of command #10INFOQS response. Examples 000E1026: Old 1080p board Software release 38.14 (hsr8_revB_v16r38r14_AddToFlashwriter.hex, 640kb, 08/2012) Software Version 10h = 16 (board is HSR8-3D 1080p Assy Rev.B) 00051027: Faulty 1080p upgrade (do not use it!!!) Software release 39.5 (hsr8_revB_v16r39r5_AddToFlashwriter.hex, 709kb, 04/2013) Software Version 10h = 16 (board is HSR8-3D 1080p Assy Rev.B) 00142029: Pre-production samples Software release 41.20 (hsr82_revXB_v32r41r20_AddToFlashwriter.hex, 800kb, 05/2014) Software Version 20h = 32 (board is HSR82, 4K, Assy Rev. XB) 00142229: First production Software release 41.20 (hsr82_revB_v34r41r20_AddToFlashwriter.hex, 800kb, 05/2014) Software Version 22h = 34 (board is HSR82, 4K, Assy Rev. B) 000B222A: Added more 4K formats Software release 42.11 (hsr82_revB_v34r42r11_AddToFlashwriter.hex, 813kb, 12/2014) Software Version 22h = 34 (board is HSR82, 4K, Assy Rev. B) 00112A2B: Current Bryston production Software release 43.17 (hsr82p_revB_v42r43r17_AddToFlashwriter.hex, 1018kb 12/2015) Software Version 2Ah = 42 (board is HSR82P, 4K+1xHDCP2.2, Assy Rev. B) 00072A2D: Test release to minimize switching transients Software release 45.7 (hsr82p_revB_v42r45b7_AddToFlashwriter.hex, 1028kb 05/2016) Software Version 2Ah = 42 (board is HSR82P, 4K+1xHDCP2.2, Assy Rev. B) 00023A2E: Sample board HSR72Q Software release 46.2 (hsr72q_revA_v58r46b9_AddToFlashwriter.hex, 703kb 05/2017) Software Version 3Ah = 58 (board is HSR72Q, 600MHz 4K + 7xHDCP2.2, Assy Rev. XA) *) The Software Version code is tied to the board hardware assembly revision: bb=10 --> HSR8-3D Assy Rev.B bb=1A --> HSR82 (4K) Assy Rev.XA (early preproduction batch) bb=20 --> HSR82 (4K) Assy Rev.XB (preproduction batch) bb=22 --> HSR82 (4K) Assy Rev.B (full production) bb=2A --> HSR82P (4K+1xHDCP2.2) Assy Rev.B (full prod) bb=3A --> HSR72Q (600MHz 4K + 7xHDCP2.2) pre-production samples Note: the currently used HDMI board model HSR82P supports 4K resolution (and DSD) on all inputs but supports HDCP2.2 copy protection standard only on HDMI input socket #8 and only on HDMI output socket #2 ! I did not find any differences between the hardware assembly batches such as XA,XB or B. When HDMI firmware is updated, aa and cc will change but bb should stay the same! The reason aa and cc are out of sequence is for compatibility with the early units. Originally aa was not returned by the early HSR8 boards when we released SP3, aa value was added later.
