No DSD via S/DIF ?

I have just acquired a DAC that will accept DSD. If I am reading correctly I can only output from BDP2 via USB? Unfortunately I had just purchased a very expensive S/DIF cable and hate to turn around and have to buy a complimentary expensive USB cable as well. I only have one DSD download at this time as to try it out. Is S/DIF or USB output more sonicly appealing? If its S/DIF i'll just bag the DSD downloading. If USB is preferred I will move to that direction
