I have noticed that recently my BDP-1 has started to exhibit random cut-outs or drop-outs when playing. At first, it only seemed to do this when I had been playing it for a couple of hours, but this afternoon, I just had it on for about an hour and the drop-outs started. I have checked the disk and the files and they are okay. Could it be that the playlists are too long (only 51 songs today), running out of memory (memory at 98+%) or an overloaded processor (only about 36%). I am running firmware version 2.24 2016-02-08. Or is there a setting that i need to change to ensure continuity. This is driving me nuts and may drive me back to my BCD-1.
TIA

Are you playing your music from a NAS or USB drive?

I am using a 2.5" Hitachi 500 GB external USB drive. I tried using music on the NAS, but the network latency was horrible resulting in unlistenable music. This dropout phenomenon is relatively recent and doesn't happen all the time. It MAY be worse with HD files, although I can't swear to it.

I have also been having latency problems lately. No latency problems when using Manic Moose, but having problems when using JRiver or Roon Labs.

had a go at utilizing music on the NAS, yet the system inactivity was terrible bringing about unlistenable music. This dropout wonder is moderately later and doesn't occur constantly. It MAY be more terrible with HD documents, despite the fact that I can't promise to it.
