Hi

Ive been having some issues trying to read a 64GB 'thumbdrive'. The BDP-1 does not recognise it. It does'nt show up in the list of drives. When I insert it, the thumbdrive flashes for a few seconds but no update happens and its as if its not connected as far as BDP-1 is concerned. It seems to work ok on my PC. The flac files are read ok by by PC.

I suspected it may be the formatting (NTFS) , so I formatted it as exFAT and tried again, still not recognised by BDP-1, though OK on my pc as before. Its a Medion brand 64GB drive. All my other thumb drives are 32GB and different brands (Sandisk, Lexar ) or less plus one 2TB externally powered Seagate drive that all work fine.

I tried front and back port, same result.

I thought maybe it could be a firmware issue. I am running as follows

About
S1.72 2013-06-05
Build: Loony Loon (RELEASE)
MPD: 0.15.12
Kernel: 2.6.32-5-486
Copyright Bryston Ltd. 2010

when I tried the update firmware function I get

"Failed to aquire intruction file"

I have disabled, firewall, antivirus, VPN and get the same result

I have been very happy with the BDP-1 so far.

Is there are advice you can give me re firmware update and Medion 64GB Thumbdirve

regards,
G

Loony Loon won't read exfat, it will read ntfs and fat32.

You should skip to manic moose
