Can’t Update Firmware

It’s Sunday night and I am attempting to update to the latest firmware S-2.40 from S2.38. I have tried on three different devices, an iPhone, iPad and iMac. All I get is a spinning line (or whatever that is ). The software says an update is available but it is a no-go. Thoughts?

Problem solved. Apparently one of my two ethernet connections isn't working properly'.
