4K HDMI setup, source switching

1) If the SP3 unit was upgraded to 4K capable HDMI board, it is important to reset parameter HDMI STARTUP as follows:
SOURCE SETUP --> OTHER --> HDMI STARTUP 0 AUTO
If this is not done and this parameter is not "0 AUTO" the system will not sync after the the source is switched (or it will take a long time to sync and will require toggling the play/pause etc). This has to be dona for every source selected from 1 to 8.

This parameter will become obsolete in the future firmware revision.

2) Another parameter that needs to be checked in case the old value was left in place from non-4K HDMI setup, is:
SOURCE SETUP --> OTHER --> HDMI DEEPCOLOR 300
It should be 300 (MHz) for the 4K HDMI and 200 or 225 for the old HDMI board. If it is left at 200 MHz, it will not play 4K video format.

3) Parameter SOURCE SETUP --> OTHER --> HDMI CABLE EQ HGH/LOW is obsolete for 4K and has no effect.

4) HDMI board firmware revision is indicated by an 8 character code in the line at parameter:
SYSTEM SETUP-->TESTS-->SYSTEM STATUS-->HDMI VERSN

for example 000B222A etc

The last 2 (rightmost) characters indicate main HDMI firmware revision number and should be either 29 or 2A (or higher, in the future). If it is 29, the firmware can be upgraded to 2A (it adds one extra 60Hz 4K video mode) by executing MISCELLANEOUS-->UPDATE MENU as described in the documentation on-line (see previous posts). Make sure that the main SP3 firmware is current (2015.04b).
