BDP-1 Firmware Update for Roon

I have a pair of BDP-1s that both report fw version S1.65 2013-01-30.

I'd like to update to a fw version that includes Roon support.

It's my understanding from the Manic Moose upgrade instructions that to go down that path, I should update to S1.75 over the network first. However, neither of my BDP-1s reports "update available" despite the fact that they are connected to and accessible on my local network that includes a high speed internet connection.

Is it possible to perform the S1.75 update manually via USB? Where do I get the .bin file?

Is it OK instead to go straight from S1.65 to Manic Moose firmware20140430.bin via manual USB update?

Does Manic Moose fully support Roon or do I need to upgrade to something more recent?

I'm handicapped and it will be very difficult for me to open the unit etc so please don't recommend anything that includes significant risk of being forced to that.

Just attmpt to upgrade directly to manic moose, it'll be no more likely or unlikely to work using S1.65.

Cheers

Thanks Chris.

Will I need to do upgrades beyond Manic Moose to get Roon support?

If so, where can I get the necessary .bin so I can do the upgrade via USB?

Via USB, doesn't exist, just use the bin file you have and if it does work it'll get you to S2.32

The upgrade mostly worked, but did not terminate properly.

The BDP-1 is up & running and reports S2.32 2017-02-01. I see the new web interface when I connect using a browser.

It appears to be stuck at

Repartitioning Stage 1:
Finished: Stage 2 Launching

After this was shown on the BDP-1 display for over an hour, I restarted and the unit returns to this state after going through startup.

I do have an empty 1GB thumb drive plugged in.

I can load tracks & play them despite the message on the display.

While "Roon Ready" appears in the Services list, I can't activate it. After I press Start/Stop I see the ... but it continues to report "Roon Ready: Off" and no checkmark is shown next to "Roon Ready" in the services list.

"MPD", "SAMBA SERVER" and "USB Mount" all have check marks.

Help!

Actually I got it done, and Roon is working.

I noticed that the 2.32 date on the browser update page was different so I told it to update and it completed fine.

It now reports S2.32 2017-02-13 (was S2.32 2017-02-01)

I'll try updating my second BDP-1 after playing with Roon for a while.

My second update went exactly as the first.

The S2.32 2017-02-01 update got stuck in the same way and updating to S2.32 2017-02-13 fixed everything as before.

I'm good to go.

Thanks for the help.
