BDP-1 not updating

Hi Chris/Gary,

My BDP-1 is initializing but cannot recognize attached drives. I cannot use the navigation buttons on front panel. I no longer see the 'U" for updating, after it initializes. It shows "S1.73 2013.07.02" then only a pause symbol. I have just one thumbdrive attached to front USB. I do see the drive on bryston-bdp-1.local through my Apple desktop but I cannot get the player to play music from it using the front panel buttons or from the computer's Max interface.

Help! How do I do a system reset? My computer is in another room than my BDP-1. Do I need a new card? I don't want to have to download Manic Moose, or whatever.

Hi Pete,

Lets try using another thumb drive as a test. Grab an otherwise unused thumbdrive from around the house and put 2 or 3 songs on it. Place that in the unit and see what happens.

Hi Gary,

Problem solved with Chris thru e-mail. Wasn't recognizing IP address thru iPad's MPad app.
OK now. Had to just delete the BDP on MPad then re-add it using typed in IP address under "Server" of MPad's settings for BDP.
A bit like a reset so power-ethernet box would recog BDP thru wireless of iPad. Can now resume control thru iPad instead of front panel buttons.
